March Newsletter Donastar takes Great Falls, Montana!

In a recent project awarded to one of our partners, Donastar Enterprises was called upon for help in the Great Falls, Montana area. Donastar was able to utilize its service partner network to identify the most competent service option at ‘not to exceed’ rates that fell within the project budget. As a result, Josh of Donastar was able to travel to the Blue sky state to get some firsthand experience on the electrical project!

Josh met with Cheriene, one of Donastar’s Electrician partners in the Great Falls, Montana area at the first of four convenience stores. Our main tasks at each location was to add a 4th 115v circuit to the beverage island and upgrade 30 amp lines to 40 amp lines, as well as upgrade the receptacles. With over 20 years of electrical experience, Cheriene had a strong understanding of the scope of work and was very comfortable with what needed to be done.

Cheriene had spent some time visiting each location before Josh arrived so she could have questions together for when he arrived. They went through the first site together and thought up a plan that would require some alternative parts. Luckily, Donastar and its partners have strong relationships with distributors of all kinds of food-service equipment and parts, and we were able to source what was needed by the next morning!

The next day, they arrived at the same location as the day before with MC cable, tandem breakers, and the proper 5-15R and 14-50R receptacles. Cheriene was quick to get to work as she started strategically popping out ceiling tiles to run the MC cable from the breaker box to the receptacles on the beverage island. Once she had a decent view of the pathway, she carefully guided the MC cable through the ceiling to the breaker box and then down the power pole to the spot where she thought the receptacles would be installed. She was careful to cut just the right amount of cable in case we needed some more flexibility.

With some light assistance, Cheriene was able to complete the unconnected line run in just under two hours. She confidently told Josh that it was a good idea not to install the new receptacles until the new coffee machines were installed. She committed to arriving on the scheduled installation days to make the final connections while the installers were on site.

We also coordinated efforts with the installation team to have our electricians and their installers maximize efficiency and ensure as little downtime as possible for the convenience stores, which was a great success.

After the experience Josh had with Cheriene at the first location, he was comfortable letting her handle the rest on her own. He was able to return home feeling confident about the job and more informed given the knowledge he gained from his experience. We hope to continue to garner new experiences and extend the Donastar service channel to encompass all food-service solutions for restaurants, c-stores, and others alike! We urge you to reach out to Donastar through our website www.donastar.com or through our service line at 833-366-2782 to inquire about food-service equipment solutions.
